Over the past few weeks, I had the incredible opportunity to guide 3rd-semester Communication Design students through the Design Methods and Processes module at Banasthali Vidyapith. The journey was filled with creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights!
📌 What We Explored:
Design Thinking: From discovery to delivery, students learned how to apply empathy, ideation, and innovation to real-world problems.
C + D = M Formula: Students used logical and strategic thinking to create their own formulas (like Challenges + Determination = Mastery) and translated these concepts into meaningful logo designs.
Storytelling with Shapes: They visualized elements like circles, triangles, and squares, then crafted compelling stories and transformed them into 60-second videos.
App Design: Students designed user-centric apps, focusing on usability, functionality, and visual appeal, while integrating critical thinking and research.
Brand Identity, T-Shirt & Packaging Design: Each student brought their ideas to life by designing T-shirts and sustainable packaging, understanding the importance of form, function, and user-centric solutions.
🔍 Key Focus Areas:
Critical Thinking: Tackling design challenges creatively within time and resource constraints.
Sustainability: Emphasizing eco-friendly materials and responsible design choices.
Ownership & Responsibility: Encouraging students to take full ownership of their projects, plan meticulously, and deliver beyond expectations.
👩🎓👨🎓 The Results:
I witnessed incredible growth, dedication, and innovation from my students. Their projects reflected not just skill but also a deep understanding of design principles and real-world applications.
This journey reaffirmed my belief that design education is about more than just creating—it’s about transforming ideas into impactful solutions and shaping the future of responsible design professionals.
A big thank you to my students and the dedicated professors at Banasthali Vidyapith for this enriching experience. Your support and collaboration made this journey truly memorable. Excited to see how these young designers shape the world! 🌍💡
